Sierra Leone Multidimensional Poverty Measure

On May 14, Sierra Leone Government will launch its Multidimensional Poverty Index (SL-MPI) jointly with the United Nations Development Programme, and OPHI’s support.

This event will take place on the conference room of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development (MoPED) of Sierra Leone. Samuel G. Doe, from United Nations, and Osman Sankoh, Statistician General of Stats Sierra Leone, will give their remarks, and Sheka Bangura from MoPED and OPHI Co-Director of Metrics and Policy Monica Pinilla will present highlights of findings and recommendations of this national Multidimensional Poverty Index.

Dr Robert T.M Chakanda, Deputy Minister of Planning & Economic Development of Sierra Leone, will give a keynote address and launch the SL-MPI.
